The joys of Sun Spotting

I've had one joyful day of tinkering with a SUN SPOT developer kit, courtesy of javaBin

  • My first impression is WAY COOL.

  • After running through the tutorial, my mind is set on "how can I take over the world with my Sun Spottlings!?".

  • At the end of the day, I'm wondering where I can shop peripherals for my seeker-destroyer and beer fetching LEGO robot.

The sunspot site says little on the big visionary thoughts of where they're heading and what equipment you can buy, as well as what the prices will expect to be on a production unit once embedded.
The bottom line is; This is exciting stuff, for Java developers and embedding intelligence into stuff, Java Style. But peripherals should be browsable and available over the counter for the Java geeks who don't have a do-it-yourself electrical engineer bachelor.
